Path to Now

Marcia has loved creating things for as long as she can remember. She grew up in a household filled with artists, where creativity was not only encouraged but deeply respected. Her father, Mario Brasini, a playwright and her greatest supporter, nurtured her artistic spirit from an early age.

“Dad and I just adored each other,” Marcia recalls. “He celebrated every new creation with such joy. There was so much love and respect for each step of my development. It felt as if creativity bound us together—we vibrated on the same wavelength. His unconditional support made exploration feel safe, and it gave me the confidence to dedicate my life to the visual arts.”

After high school, Marcia pursued formal art studies, where she discovered a passion for sculpting. Even before graduating, she opened her first studio. Success followed quickly, and her sculptural work was soon represented by galleries across the country. As her work gained recognition, opportunities abroad emerged, ultimately leading her to establish a studio and permanent home in the United States.

First sculpture, first studio, 1983.

The transition was not easy. For many years, Marcia worked tirelessly to find an audience, participating in juried exhibitions throughout the East Coast. During this period of perseverance and growth, her creative process evolved. Sculpture gradually gave way to silversmithing, and she found her voice through jewelry—objects meant not only to be seen, but to be worn and lived with. To deepen her understanding of materials, she became a registered gemologist specializing in gem identification.

Early sculptural works from Marcia’s formative years as a full-time artist.

In 1990, Marcia and her husband, Fred Fowler, opened a studio and showroom in New Oxford, where she created and sold her work for nearly two decades. Eventually, they were given the opportunity to move their shop to Gettysburg—a place that felt aligned with both her craft and her values.

The challenging years that came before are etched into Marcia’s work and her way of seeing. They shaped her patience, resilience, and deep sense of gratitude. When she speaks about her journey, that gratitude is unmistakable—and it lives quietly in every piece she creates.

Artist Statement

Thanks to the support of those who wear my work, I am able to spend my days doing what I love most—creating jewelry by hand, with intention and care. Each piece is made to bring joy and a sense of positive energy into everyday life.

I work primarily in .925 sterling silver, shaping and constructing every design using traditional silversmithing techniques. From the first sketch to the final polish, each step is done at the bench, by my hands. Every gemstone is individually tested in our gem lab to ensure quality and authenticity, because materials matter as much as the design itself.

There are no shortcuts in my process. Time, patience, and attention to detail are essential to my work, and every hour is devoted to creating jewelry that is meant to be worn, lived with, and enjoyed for years to come.

It is a privilege to share my work with you. I hope you find a piece that feels personal—something that quietly reminds you of your own strength and beauty each time you wear it.
